AngleseaFrom the comfort of your luxury coach take a scenic tour of the seaside towns of Anglesea and Lorne stopping along the way for morning tea. Situated along the scenic Great Ocean road beaches surrounded by beautiful forest and coastal scenery make Anglesea a popular tourist resort. Located 29km from Anglesea is the seaside township of Lorne. Cafes and boutiques line the main foreshore creating a Mediterranean feel to the area. Lorne's wide foreshore area extends from the shops on Mountjoy Parade down to the patrolled sandy beach areas. During your tour enjoy a delicious 2 course lunch at the Anglesea Golf Course. This golf club began life in 1950 and has seen many improvements to the course and Clubhouse along the way. After lunch sit back and relax for your journey home. | Around the BaySit back and relax as we make our way to Queenscliff, through Geelong. Queenscliff is a small town on the Bellarine Peninsula at the entrance to Port Phillip Bay. Along the way we will take a break for morning tea. We continue our journey to Queenscliff where we board the ferry and enjoy a scenic trip across the water to Sorrento. From there we will make our way to Rye to enjoy a two course lunch at the Rye RSL. After lunch, board the bus as we start to make our way home during which time you will get the chance to see some of the beautiful scenery that the Mornington Peninsula has to offer from the comfort of your coach. | ||
Barwon Park Mansion, WinchelseaEnjoy an informative guided tour of Barwon Park Mansion, a 42 room bluestone mansion and stables built for Thomas and Elizabeth Austin and their 11 children. Completed in 1869 this was the finest and most celebrated mansion house in western Victoria. In the manner of the wealthy country squire, Austin loved shooting and in 1859 he imported quails, pheasants, foxes and rabbits for that purpose. In the eyes of many he became responsible for Australia's substantial rabbit problems. His wife founded the Austin Hospital in Melbourne. Once your tour of Barwon Park Mansion is complete, board the coach for Winchelsea Shire Hall Tea Rooms for a delicious two course lunch, then board the coach, sit back and relax for your trip home. | Bellarine Peninsula RailwayTravel through Geelong and out to the seaside village of Barwon Heads where you will stop for morning tea. Your journey of the Bellarine Peninsula continues through Ocean Grove and Leopold. Today you will enjoy a delicious two course lunch at the Leopold Sportsman's Club. Following your lunch you will then head out to Queenscliff historic station and take a ride on the Bellarine Peninsula Railway. This railway operates a collection of heritage trains on 16 kilometers of restored track between Queenscliff and Drysdale. The railway hugs the water around scenic Swan Bay providing breathtaking views, before climbing through the rolling hills of the Bellarine Peninsula to Drysdale. Views over Corio & Port Phillip Bays add to the scenic splendor of the journey. The one-way journey to Drysdale takes approximately 45 minutes. On completion of your train journey re-board the coach and enjoy the leisurely journey back to Melbourne. | ||
Blue LotusSit back and relax as we head up the highway to Yarra Junction located in the heart of Upper Yarra Valley. We take a short break for morning tea before arriving at the Blue Lotus Water Garden. There you can enjoy the 14 acre display garden complete with 100's of flowering exotic lotus and waterlilies as well as lakes, bridges, ponds and islands. Enjoy the walking tracks with the grand peaks of the Mt Donna Buang Ranges as the backdrop to the property. A nursery is available for purchases. A delicious two course lunch will then be provided at the Upper Yarra RSL. It will then be time to make our way home, stopping along the way at Rayners Stone fruit Orchards which has over 200 varieties of the finest stone fruit set on 40acres. Here you can stroll through the groves tasting the freshest of fruits. Fruit sales are also available. | Chocolate and DistilleryTravel to the eastern suburbs of Melbourne visiting Heritage Fine Chocolates and the Bacchus Distillery. Along the way we stop for morning tea. Arriving at Heritage Fine Chocolates we sample the chocolates on offer, with time to make any purchases. We then make our way to the Berwick Inn for a delicious 2 course lunch. Our final destination is the "Bacchus Distillery". When you arrive you will be greeted with a taste test of some of the liqueurs, schnapps and wine. City Sights Day TourDeparting at 9:30am we begin our journey towards the City of Melbourne. Sit back and relax as you take in some of the famous sights and landmarks around this wonderful city. Melbourne Cricket Ground, Etihad Stadium (formerly Telstra Dome), St.Kilda, the Docklands and more all from the comfort of your own seat. During your tour you will also stop for morning tea at a suitable location. Following your tour of this wonderful city you will enjoy a delicious two course lunch at the Flemington Racecourse. After an interesting and enjoyable day, it will be time to destination by around 4:00pm. | Corio Bay Cruise and The Gateway HotelTravel to Geelong and to the Alexander Thompson Jetty to board the luxury powered Catamaran, Freedom for a one sight see picturesque Corio Bay and enjoy the commentary on Geelong's water front history and industrial development over the past 150 years. You may also see a dolphin or two. Enjoy panoramic views of Geelong's award winning waterfront. Watch yachts and cargo ships cruise by while enjoying a cuppa. Daylesford and TrenthamToday we make our way to the beautiful town of Daylesford via Trentham. Trentham is a small historic town on the edge of Wombat Forest. Sit back and take in the beautiful sites of natural bushland with a morning tea stop at the picturesque Quarry Street Reserve and lake. We then head to the township of Daylesford, this region contains Australia's largest concentration of natural mineral springs in the country. During Daylesford's formative gold rush there were many Italians and Swiss living there and their influence on the gardens and architecture has been profound; bestowing upon the town a European feel. Then we take a trip down memory lane and find a bargain at the Mill Market. The market has one of the largest collections of antiques, memorabilia, retro fashion and collectables. And when you are all shopped out, enjoy a delicious 2 course lunch at the Daylesford Bowling club. Then board the coach for a relaxing journey home. | Tour of Geelong and The Gateway HotelBoard your luxury coach and head down to the beautiful city of Geelong. Since the first arrival of settlers on the Lady Nelson in 1802 Geelong has documented a broad history. For a long time considered an industrial city with such commercial giants as the Ford motor company and the Shell refinery, today Geelong is a proud and diversified city boasting significant coastal attractions, varied businesses and a number of successful sporting clubs. Geelong's streets have an extensive range of historic and heritage recognized buildings. Much of the architecture of the buildings can be attributed to Australia's colonial pioneers who helped build Geelong into a thriving city. You will experience the history of this cosmopolitan city during a guided tour (on coach). Following the tour you will enjoy lunch at the Gateway Hotel. Healesville SanctuarySit back and relax as we head for the foothills of Yarra Valley. Healesville Sanctuary is one of Australia's most recognized attractions, showcasing more than 200 species of Australian wildlife, only one hour from Melbourne. Get closer to Australia's wildlife, featuring unique experiences with kangaroos, koalas and amazing birds of prey. Check on the progress of animals being cared for at the Australian Wildlife Health Center. This is Australian flora and fauna at its best! Take a free guided tour around the Sanctuary with trained volunteer guides. Once you have experienced the wonders of the Healesville Sanctuary we will board the coach and head for the Healesville RSL for a delicious 2 course meal before heading home. | Kerrisdale Mountain RailwayTake a ride back into history as we travel up the Hume highway via Kilmore and Broadford to the Kerrisdale Mountain Railway. In the 1950's steam power was still "King" on the railways and every boy dreamed of becoming an engine driver. Take a ride on the Kerrisdale Mountain Railway and see the Malcolm Moore, The Ruston and Hornsby Locomotives which were purchased and fully rebuilt. We then head to Flowerdale where we stop at the Flowerdale Hotel for a delicious two course lunch. After lunch we will travel to Kinglake and visit the Flying Tarts Bakery. This bakery was spared after nearly 30 residents sheltering there put out spot fires during the Black Saturday fires. Here you will have a chance to purchase some tasty treats. MaldonTravel to the township of Maldon which is located in a historical gold mining region between Castlemaine and Bendigo, stopping along the way for morning tea. Maldon has been perfectly preserved since its mining days and is Australia's First Notable Town classified by the National Trust in 1966. The township was established after gold was found in 1853 at the foot of Mount Tarrengower. Take a fully guided coach tour and see impressive historic buildings including the railway station (1884), the Grand Hotel (1888), the old post office (1870) and a number of churches. Many of the commercial buildings located along Maldon's streets have been converted into cafes, galleries and antiques shops. After your guided tour settle down for a delicious 2 course lunch at a local hotel. Then it's all aboard as you finish your day with a one way train ride from Maldon to Castlemaine and through Muckleford station where your coach will be awaiting your arrival to start your relaxing journey home. | MaryboroughDeparting at 8.30am we travel to Maryborough stopping for complimentary morning tea along the way. Maryborough is the heart of the Victorian Goldfields and is central to both Ballarat and Bendigo. The town was settled in the 1830's by pastoralists but with the discovery of gold, prospectors flocked to the area in search of their fortune. Even today they still come to find the elusive metal as Maryborough is renowned for its alluvial gold. Maryborough has many grand buildings, historic cottages and gracious homes which are complimented by beautiful parks and gardens. On your arrival to this beautiful town you will be greeted by a local tour guide who will show you the many historical and natural attractions this town has to offer. After the tour you will make your way to the Park Hotel for a delicious two course lunch. After lunch, board the coach for your journey home arriving at your club rooms at approximately 5.00pm. | ||
Phillip Island, Vietnam Museum, Seal RockTake a trip only 90 minutes from Melbourne and visit Phillip Island. Experience coastal scenery and charming heritage on this wildlife island. Visit the National Vietnam Veterans Museum which is nationally recognized and dedicated to the preserving and displaying of photographs, memorabilia, vehicles and aircraft that detail the history of Australian involvement in the Vietnam War from 1962 to 1972. Enjoy a delicious 2 course lunch at the Phillip Island RSL and then head for the far south western tip of Phillip Island "The Nobbies". Here boardwalks and lookout points offer spectacular coastal views and a chance to view Australia's largest colony of fur seals, located 1km offshore. Up to 16,000 seals gather at Seal Rocks, with the number peaking during breeding season from October to December. | Trentham Pig and Whistle HotelSit back and unwind as we travel up the Calder highway heading for beautiful Trentham, a small rural township nestled at the very top of the Great Dividing Range midway between Woodend and Daylesford situated on the edge of Wombat State Forest northwest of Melbourne's CBD. Take a short tour of this historic township which possesses an attractive streetscape. See the old police station and slab lockup, Trewhalla Brothers foundry and other historic items such as two old horse troughs in town. Once we have taken in the delights of this historical town enjoy a delicious 2 course lunch at the "Pig & Whistle Hotel". Point Nepean Fort and Quarantine StationClosed to the public for over 100 years, Point Nepean National Park is now a popular tourist destination. Besides spectacular ocean scenery, the park is home to Fort Nepean and the historic Quarantine Station. Fort Nepean contains an extensive system of fortifications built from the 1880's through to the 1st and 2nd World Wars. Fort Nepean was known in the 1880s as Victoria's "Gibraltar" and in 1890 it was reported that Melbourne was the best defended commercial city of the British Empire. The Quarantine Station was first established on the shores of Port Phillip Bay in 1852. It was used to protect the colony of Melbourne from ship borne diseases and later become an army base. You will also enjoy a delicious BBQ style lunch whilst taking in the beauty of Point Nepean National Park. Following your lunch and tours you will board the coach for a relaxing journey home. | Shepparton DelightsTake a delightful journey to Shepparton and time to spoil yourself. Your first stop will be the gorgeous Woodlands Lavender Estate. Here you will be treated to a talk and a Devonshire Tea including freshly baked Lavender Scones. Toomuc ValleyLess than 45 minutes south east of Melbourne is a hidden treasure known as Toomuc Valley. The valley provides visitors with a chance to browse amongst the variety of arts and products for sale. Visit Serendipity Lavender Farm out at Nar Nar Goon. You will be treated to a Devonshire morning tea and have a chance to visit their gift shop which holds many treasures created from lavender. Then visit "The Glass Shoppe", a studio outlet and seconds shop which has a glittering array of carved and blown glassware. Beading enthusiasts will adore the range of jewellery available. Glass artists, Mick and Annie O'Riley have been producing unique pieces since the mid 1970's. Their glassware is found all over Australia and overseas. During your day out you will also enjoy a delicious 2 course lunch at the Castella Pakenham Hotel. You will also visit the Robert Gordon Pottery Factory outlet with its fabulous array of locally produced pottery and home wares. Then settle back for your relaxing journey home. | Warrook HomesteadToday travel via Tooradin and visit Warrook Homestead and Working Farm and experience life on a real working farm. This farm is operated by some amazing young ladies. Warrook Cattle Farm is renowned as a premier working farm to which visits can be made. When we arrive at the farm you will be given a guided tour around Warrook Homestead where you can experience farm life first hand. You will be introduced to animals that live on the farm. Followed by a sheep shearing display, working dogs displayed as they round up some sheep and a whip cracking exhibition. If you feel brave enough one of the ladies will teach you how to crack the whip. After the tour indulge in a scrumptious two course meal inside the beautiful homestead. | ||
